PROJECT PORTFOLIO

THE UMBRELLA LOGO REPRESENTS “INDIE-ACTIVISM” AS AN UMBRELLA TERM FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND ITS BROAD SPECTRUMS OF COLORS REPRESENT THE DIVERSE CAUSES WE STAND FOR.

Although trademarking was a large aspect of this project, The Indie-Activists™ is a humanitarian project focused on spreading awareness of mental health, womens rights, and animal rights. A larger portion of the project involved graphic design, website design, publicity, outreach, writing, petitioning, and social research about the causes of injustice.

The Indie-Activists™ (indie-activism) is our non-partisan, grassroots movement to support independent or even underrepresented causes and to raise awareness of social issues. Mainly through petitioning, writing to government officials, and spreading the word, we want to impact our communities. We hope that our small, individual activism efforts will eventually lead to a greater change.

TRADEMARKING

TRADEMARKING

Ideas and words have a personal value, and we wanted to learn more about the branding process so one summer, we registered a trademark and have been published in 2015 Trademarks Gazette by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The trademark for The Indie-Activists™ was filed on July 7, 2015 and granted by the USPTO on November 24, 2015 on the grounds that we were: a charitable service, namely, promoting public awareness of activism, petitioning, and improving the lives of citizens; promoting public awareness of the need for public education of mental illnesses and suicide and self-harm prevention; public advocacy to promote awareness of equality for all people, including women, elderly, and disabled.
